I'm collecting so much data on bird song that I'm in danger of being overwhelmed. In fact I got my recordings mixed up yesterday and nearly posted something which would have damaged my reputation as an aspiring boffin forever.
C1 and C2 sonograms are from the same Chaffinch, and are very similar. I then studied a different Chaffinch, C3, and I found that it was almost identical to C1. Yes, I'd discovered that a chaffinch could produce a sound which was more similar to a different bird than 2 sounds from the same bird!
This is the kind of finding which is going to catapult me into the bird boffin limelight...I thought.
On closer inspection, C3 and C1 turned out to be identical almost to pixel level; it was the same recording. Yes, I nearly announced to the world that the same recording of the same bird is, er, the same.
I've been cataloguing my chaffings since I tipped the scales at 20st (good job I left Rugby, I'd have reached 30st by now).
Perhaps that could be the subject of an interesting feature on your blog ... or does it come under biotechnorati?

Chaffings and weight? Sorry, I don't see a correlation here .. :-) ;-)

I've seen him in his dressing gown, and I know EXACTLY what he's talking about. Alan, you need some fresh balls:

Gosh, i wish I hadn't posted that now. I've just had a look at the testimonials and they are giving away FAR too much information. Actually there are only two testimonials. How appropriate
'I had been using Gold bond powder for years. It worked ok but did not last long and basically caked up like some kind of dough.'
