I saw these in Poland all the time but I hadn't seen many in Britain until I visited Amwell Nature Reserve. This cute young one was on a feeder next to the reed beds, and seemed really at ease with me getting to within a few feet of him.
I was so close, I was able to use flash, which really helps with getting sharp images:
