This is a very unsatisfactory list in many ways, but I have to start somewhere. I was into birds 10 years ago, but I've since lost my original list, so I'm in effect starting again.
I'm sure I've seen Kittiwake for example, but can't exactly remember where, so I'll leave it off. I remember someone pointing out a Lesser Whitethroat many years ago but can I honestly say I got a good look at it? No, so that's off too.
I also see birders agonising over whether a bird was a "proper" wild bird or not. I'm not too bothered about that. If I saw it in the wild, and it wasn't wearing a ring, in it goes. Some birders won't allow Feral Pigeon (because it's not a proper wild bird?) but allow Ring Necked Paraqeet, which is definitely an introduced species, and quite a recent one too. I don't worry about all that: Ruddy Duck, Mandarin, Egyptian Goose: stick them all in.
