The birds are going mad for the last of the apples on our tree:
You need a telephoto to get shots like this, the problem is that my 300mm lens is a cheapie Tamron which gives diabolical chromatic aberration (the blue/purple fringing around subjects with high contrast)
As you can see in the shot above, it's fine when there isn't too much difference beween subject and background, but against a white sky, it gets ridiculous.
I used this great tutorial on Youtube to remove the effect in the picture below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xPeaX0Y9bU but if you look closely (please don't) you will see that this causes other problems.
If only I'd had a decent lens, this could have been a winner. Ah well, Christmas is just around the corner...
