The best way to experience the Emotional Freedom Technique is to work with a trained Practitioner. However, it is such a powerful tool that even complete beginners can often achieve dramatic results, just by applying a simple form of the technique without any specialised training.
Here is an excellent example of what it can do. This lady came to one of my workshops and in just a few minutes I showed her how to use EFT. It was several months later that she actually applied the technique:
"I have an 8 year old son that has refused to go on a train for the past two years since his brother decided to jump on the train and disappear down the track leaving the rest of us on the platform!
My 8 year old who was at the time 6 was completely traumatised and believed that he would never see his big brother again and no matter how many times I tried to get him on a train again he would go into complete panic and scream! Well last week I tried a very basic method (of what I could remember) of EFT and to my amazment he happily got on the train to London a very happy bunny!
I have to say I'm completely shocked that it worked but also at how easy it was for me to talk him through it so he could do it himself."

The great news is that you use the same protocol to deal with any issue in your life; cravings, stress, phobias, and emotional or physical problems.
Why not give it a go now? It's very simple to learn, and you may well be amazed with the results!
The EFT Protocol
The Set Up
Think of an issue that you would like to work on. As a beginner, it would be best to focus on a problem you have right now, for example feeling stressed or having a craving for chocolate.
Think of one sentence which expresses the problem and what you want the result to be. For example:
"Even though I am so stressed right now, I choose to be completely calm and relaxed."
"Even though I really want that chocolate cake, I choose to be totally satisfied with this lovely sweet apple."
"Even though I have this terrible anxiety, I choose to let it all go easily."
Give your problem a number between zero and 10. For example, if your craving is the strongest it's ever been, give it 10. If it's quite strong but not as bad as yesterday, give it a 7. A zero means the problem has disappeared completely.
Focus on the problem and repeat your sentence 3 times. As you do this, repeatedly tap on the "karate chop" point on either hand. How hard and how rapidly should you tap? There is no one answer to this. I like to tap quite firmly and rapidly, others prefer to do it more gently and slowly:
Round One
Repeat a summary of the first part of your sentence as you tap on each of the key points (see below.) For example "I want that chocolate" or "terrible anxiety."
You can use either hand to tap on either side of your body.
There are 8 points, which means you will say your phrase 8 times in Round One.
The first point is at the end of your eyebrow. Tap here with 2 fingers.
The second point is at the side of the eye, on the edge of the bone. Again use 2 fingers to tap.
The next one is also on the edge of the bone, just below your eye. Use 2 fingers.
This point is between the bottom of your nose and the top of your lip. Use one finger to tap.
Tap with 2 fingers in the "valley" between your chin and bottom lip.
This point is at the end of your collar bone. Most people have a slight bony lump here.Tap using 2, 3 or 4 fingers.
Tap with all 4 fingers on the side of your body, directly below the armpit and across from the nipple. Many people have difficulty finding this point. It's a Lymph node so with a little searching around, you should be able to find an area of increased sensitivity. For a woman, it tends to be under the bra strap.
The last point is on top of your head, right on the crown. Some people use all 4 fingers, other like to use the whole of their hand.
Round Two
Repeat Round One, tapping all 8 points on the face and body, but this time use the second part of your sentence. For example "I choose to be calm and relaxed" or "I choose to be completely satisified with an apple."
Round Three
Repeat Round One, this time alternating between the 2 parts of your sentence. For example while tapping on the first point (eyebrow) you say "This anxiety" and on the second point (side of eye) you say "I choose to be calm and relaxed. Then on the third point (Under eye) say "This anxiety" and so on.
That's it. It really is that simple!
Notice how you feel after doing EFT. Do you feel warm? "Fuzzy?" Relaxed? Now give your problem a number again. Is it still a 7 or has it shifted? Go though the procedure again until you are at a zero.
